Located at 496–498 Cecelia Road in Victoria’s Burnside Gorge neighbourhood, the Burnside School Affordable Housing Project is a transformative community initiative led by Pacifica Housing in collaboration with TL Housing Solutions, the City of Victoria, BC Housing, School District 61, and the Burnside Gorge Community Association. The development comprises two wood-frame buildings—rising four and five storeys—offering 88 affordable rental homes, including a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Designed with families in mind, over half the units are two- and three-bedroom layouts, with 62 designated as subsidized rentals and 26 as affordable market units for moderate-income households. The project also features a 59-space daycare and after-school care facility operated by the Burnside Gorge Community Association, as well as community flex spaces for educational and recreational programming. Framing a central public plaza with playgrounds and green space, the development aims to foster a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood hub.
NuFrame was engaged to deliver a comprehensive material supply package for the Burnside project, encompassing wall panels, design, delivery, and labour for the wood frame structures. By overseeing every aspect from prefabrication to on-site installation, NuFrame ensured precision and efficiency throughout the construction process. Their integrated approach contributed to the successful realization of this significant development, enhancing Victoria's housing landscape with quality craftsmanship and innovative design.
