Developed by Eighth Avenue Development Group and designed by Yamamoto Architecture, the project comprises 67 rental apartments—ranging from one to three bedrooms—positioned above three ground-level commercial retail units. The building's design draws inspiration from Squamish's industrial heritage, featuring a gabled roofline, clerestory windows, and corrugated metal cladding. Ashlu incorporates sustainable elements such as solar panels and a Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system, aligning with Passive House design principles and Step 3 of the BC Building Code. Amenities include a two-storey communal lounge, rooftop terrace with barbecue area, secure bike storage, and a co-working space, fostering a sense of community among residents.

NuFrame was engaged to deliver a comprehensive material supply package for the Ashlu project, encompassing wall panels, design, delivery, and labour for the wood frame structures. By overseeing every aspect from prefabrication to on-site installation, NuFrame ensured precision and efficiency throughout the construction process. Their integrated approach contributed to the successful realization of this distinctive development, enhancing Squamish's residential landscape with quality craftsmanship and innovative design.
